Event Details

Postdoctoral position is available in Lutsenko laboratory (Department of Physiology, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine) to investigate the role of mammalian copper homeostasis in coupling protein secretion with cell differentiation. This project is a part of the long-term program of studies to understand the pathogenesis of Wilson disease, the neurometabolic disorder caused by inactivation of copper transporter ATP7B. The postdoctoral candidate should have experience with mammalian cell cultures, preferably primary neurons and glia, knowledge of confocal and fluorescence microscopy, molecular cloning, and have familiarity with basic bioinformatics tools. Prior experience with the metabolic control of cell cycle and cytoskeleton or inter-organelle communication is a significant plus.
