ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your submissions! The deadline for abstract and postdoc slam submissions has now passed, so we are no longer accepting additional submissions. Conference Registration will remain open until midnight EST on April 18th, 2021.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please ensure your PI and co-authors are aware of your abstract submission. Posters presented at other conferences are acceptable; however, ALL submissions are final. To retract your abstract, please email postdoc@jhmi.edu.

Format and content:  One first-author abstract submission per postdoc allowed. Abstracts should include the following four sections: 1) Introduction, 2) Methods, 3) Results, and 4) Conclusions, with sections labeled accordingly. Figures and tables are not permitted (text only). Reference section nor in-text citation required.

Length: Body of abstract is limited to max. 350 words. Word count does not include title and authors.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES & JUDGING CRITERIA

All presentations should be prepared for a general academic audience.

Judging criteria:

 

The top 5 Posters will be awarded a prize of $500 each.

 

UPDATE: Due to the virtual nature of the conference, poster presenters will have 5 minutes to present their research. Poster presenters may be flexible in choosing a presentation format (e.g. traditional poster, Microsoft PowerPoint Slides, etc.), permitting that they cover the materials requested in the Poster Presentation Judging Form. To be eligible for one of the $500 poster presentation prizes, presenters MUST adhere to the Poster Presentation Judging Form. We encourage your creativity in creating a robust and dynamic virtual poster session!
